Timing
The Lights are not visible year round. They are mostly visible in the winter months although they can be seen in the late summer months. In northern regions there can be sunlight throughout the night and thus preventing the lights from being seen. In the winter months there is months of darkness without much light and that is why the lights can be seen predominantly in those months. If you are an American then getting to other countries can be much more costly and comes with increased difficulties. People coming to Alaska for other activities such as skiing can take use of easily traveling to Alaska to partake in their activity while also getting to see the Northern Lights in all their glory.
